Mind the gap

Sat Aug 27, 2005, 7:47 AM
So this is it. My life, stretching out in front of me in an unplanned morass just waiting to be used up.

And served to start with, a gap year:

- Revival of the play I took to the Edinburgh Fringe
- Writing, rehearsing and performing a play in 24 hours
- Writing a novel in a month
- Travelling around Europe on trains for a month
- 2 months' journalism in Shanghai
- Finishing my half-completed novel
- Making money

Latency

So the reason I haven't posted much recently, other than the all-too-easy "R" word, is for TEXT the fact that I've been storming ahead with the novel, and for PHOTOGRAPHS the fact that I've lost my little plastic gimmick that enables me to transfer pictures from my camera to the laptop. Idiot, huh? Anyway - after a riotous turn at a Devonshire beach, I hope to eventually bring a few amazing landscape shots, a sand-sculpture, and a few weirdly over-posed IDs. And perhaps the seagull nest from outside my window, of which the overprotective mother insisted waking me at 6.20 am every morning.

Holidays are FUN...

Crossword Clues - Solved! (As if you cared...)

Tue May 31, 2005, 2:17 AM
Some infamous ones snatched from hearsay, others invented:

GGSE (8,4) - Scrambled Eggs. (duh)

Magical wooden spinster (8) - Mystique (Miss Teak. Huh? Huh?)

HIJKLMNO (5) - Water. (Because I said so.)

Hark! Sexual perversity (5,2,4,4) - Prick up your ears. (From The Times, people...)

Explanation without cause (2) - Be. (BECAUSE if it had a cause then it would be an explanation.)

Hints by request.

The Unfinished Serials

Fri Mar 25, 2005, 12:15 PM
Dark IS still around, for those doubtful, but writing un-planned prose that dense is rather a strain. There are three parts left to come, and I am desperately trying to conclude it as sanely as I can. (There is a conclusion - it won't become ever more complex until it just fades out, trust me...) To peak interest, and detract attention from my lack of new submissions, I'll also be writing a new one with six or seven parts. I'll try and stick to a schedule on that one, but I doubt it will stay in tact. Anyway, here's hoping. The new one will probably be named SnapShot - inspired by a demand by ~TricityBendix for me to write her her own TV show. She will be turfed from the central role, of course, lest she take some credit for it, ;) , but her replacement should be just as interesting, I hope. SnapShot, as ridiculous as it sounds, will follow the bizarre, dramatic life of a newspaper photographer who happens to have second sight. Sound implausible? Sound rubbish? Good - no expectations to live up to, then...

Dark: Part VI will be up within the next 1-10 days, hopefully, and a preview of SnapShot may accompany it.

Peace out.

Bad Jokes

Speaks for itself, really. I need jokes , and lots of them. Not necessarily bad, but I don't have a huge amount of confidence in your sense of humour. :P

Go for it...
